[Weddington Senior and Senior Elite] sheila mckay photography | charlotte nc senior photography

I have been so bad lately about posting as much as I would like.  Since school is now back in full swing I am hoping to make a better presence and show you many more photographs – no only from recent sessions, but probably even more personal photographs!

Meet S, a senior at Weddington High School.  She cheers for Cheer Extreme All Stars in Kernersville, NC, at http://www.cheerextreme.com, with her team called Senior Elite.  Senior Elite competed in the 2010 Cheer and Dance World Championships at the Milkhouse at Disney’s Wide World of Sports in Orlando, FL, in April and won the 2010 Large Senior All Girl Division!  Check it out !http://www.youtube.com/v/cLywEkle984?fs=1&hl=en_US

This is an event you only get to compete in if you win a bid at a National competition during the competition season.  They were able to make the Wide World of Sports after winning The All Star Challenge Nationals held in Atlanta in December, 2009.   She was a dream to photograph because posing was just natural for her.  And we photographers love that! It sure makes my job easier.  I had such a great time photographing her that I lost track of time and we shot over 2 hours – we ran out of sunlight.

I am still weeding through the 200 images I shot and the editing and retouching has begun.  Only problem is – there are so many great shots I can’t decide which ones to keep!

Furthermore, if you know of any senior that may be interested in a senior session, please contact me at sheila@sheilamckayphotography.com or call me at 704.843.7034 or 704.650.9212.  I do have special packages geared toward senior sessions.   And feel free to visit me at http://www.sheilamckayphotography.com to check out some of my other work.

[Summertime and back to school] sheila mckay photography | charlotte nc kid and family photographer

I cannot believe the summer has passed and we are already into a new  school year.  It honestly seems as though we were just having our last day of celebrations at school.  We were in full force with summer vacation the day after school was out and we have been on the go ever since.

I made it a point to do all kinds of things with the kids this summer and somehow we managed to squeeze in lots of fun trips.    As our usual summer annuals trips – we visited Myrtle Beach SC and the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia SC.  Savannah, GA was a great trip but just didn’t get to visit long enough because baseball tournaments were our main items on the agenda.  We enjoyed some time visiting friends in Richmond VA and then headed up north to Washington DC and Georgetown to sightsee a bit.  It was such a great family trip!

Although we love vacations in other places, some of the best times we had were at home just hanging out with each other.  It was so wonderful to hear the laughter of my children as they played with each other.

Now that it is “back to school” it is also “back to business”.   I have had time to unwind and relax and now I feel rejuventated and organized and ready to get back to work!

It is now that time to start thinking of fall and holiday portraits!  Whether it be a family portrait that has been far too long ago, a senior portrait, or even those holiday cards – If you are interested in a FALL MINI SESSION click here for information.  I will be available for full sessions as well and check back often, because I have another event planned!  Stay tuned for details.  You don’t want to miss it.

Now – I will leave you with some of my favorite moments from this summer.  Just bare with me because I have way too many to post!

[2010 Fall Mini Sessions] charlotte nc photographer | sheila mckay photography

Announcing 2010 Fall Mini Sessions!  I have had several inquiries regarding fall mini sessions and this is the perfect time to take advantage of this special.  But hurry because there are only a limited number of sessions available!

To book your session call Sheila at 704.843.7034 or 704.650.9212 or contact  sheila@sheilamckayphotography.com

Here are the details and information regarding the 2010 Fall Mini Sessions!  And as always, feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns!

Where will the mini sessions take place?

Any place of your choice within a 15 miles of 28173 zip code.  If your location of choice is not within this, please inquire for travel rates.

How many people can be in a session?

Up to 4 people are included in your Fall Mini Session due to the 30 minute time frame.  If you have more than 4 people to include in a session, please contact me for more information.

You are offering holiday cards, does this need to be a holiday session?

Absolutely not!  This is a great time time to get a senior or family session, headshot, maternity session, etc.  at a discounted price.   Also, if you would like to have non-holiday cards, another comparable product can be replaced.

Can I take advantage of the 2010 Fall Mini Session for my newborn/baby?

Unfortunately, mini sessions cannot be used for babies who are not able to sit unassisted unless being held during a  family portrait of 4 due to the 30 minute session time allotted.

Can you explain the Tinyprints card orders in your $195 Fall Mini Session?

Tinyprints.com offers a wide variety of cards for all occasions.  With this particular mini session, you will be given a copyright release to use up to 2 images of your choice for cards ordered from Tinyprints.  I will send you a link to Tinyprints.com for you to browse , choose your cards, and place your order.  I will send the images to Tinyprints.com so that you can place and pay for your order and have the cards delivered directly to you.  Please keep in mind that the images you choose for your card will be lightly watermarked with my logo and cards are an additional costs.

What is the difference between your “custom holiday cards” and the “Tinyprints.com cards”?

The “custom holiday cards” are press printed and customized with templates I provide for you to choose from and are included in the mini session fee price.  Tinyprints.com cards are ordered from their website with a copyright -released image I submit for you and cards are an additional price that you order, pay, and have delivered to you.

What does it mean “images are edited”?

Although 8-10 images are provided in your gallery, many more images will be captured in order to get the perfect ones to choose from.  It takes several hours to complete your image gallery.  Once taken and uploaded,  the post processing will include retouching  of scars or blemishes, color enhancement and processing  for artistic beauty.

[Sweet Sam] charlotte nc newborn photographer | charlotte nc family photographer

Sweet Sam melted my heart the instant I held him.  It brought back so many wonderful memories of my own children.  And it was so obvious that A and D felt the same love when they held Sam.  Sam was such a trooper to endure so many positions for his first photo session!  Even Lucky, the dog was up for a photo shoot.

I was elated when A asked me to photograph her new family and I was even more elated when I managed to get so many MAGNIFICENT images.  I have a lot of images because I just had too many that I loved.  Let me know what you think – some I couldn’t decide – black or white or color.

And help this family out – 25 comments will get them a free 8 x 10!

[Oldie but Goodie] sheila mckay photography | charlotte family photographer

When I say oldie but goodie – of course I mean that I have been so far behind on my blogging and came across this session from April that I didn’t post.  And, since Father’s Day is approaching, I thought this was a perfect image.  Isn’t this a beautiful family!

I will be headed out of town again for a  few days but stay tuned for an upcoming special!  It will be a great time to catch some photographs of you and your family!
